Jamie completed his 3 peak’s challenge on the weekend 12th – 14th August. Jamie went up in a team of 13 Army Reserves (including himself) to complete the challenge. The first day they completed Scaffell Pike in 4 hours. Then on to Ben Nevis on the second day in 5.5 hours and finally they climbed Mount Snowdon on the final day in 4 hours. I hear that they even climbed a few extra smaller mountains in the area for fun after Snowdon!
As if that wasn’t enough of a challenge, Jamie was also nominated on facebook, for the 22 pressups in 22 days, to raise awareness of the 22 veterans in the UK/US who commit suicide every day. So, Jamie not being shy of taking up a challenge, completed that challenge and had video footage taken on the top of each mountain for the 3 days.
The total amount raised so far including gift aid is £607.25. £46 has been promised (included in this total) and not yet collected and I know that there were some who wanted to sponsor who haven’t yet. If you haven’t paid yet and have a tax payer in the household, if you pay in through our local giving page, they add an extra £2.50 for every £10 raised with gift aid from the government, so it really is worth doing to increase the amount raised.
Jamie made a huge effort to do this for us all at STAGES and does not receive any benefit as a user. Please help him to reach his target – I am sure that you will all agree it is very well deserved!
This is the Third major fundraiser Jamie has completed for STAGES in the last 15 months and he has to date raised £1292.
Jamie has been nominated for a Corby Shining Stars Award being held by Macy’s Memory on 10th September. Jamie is only 24 years old and is an amazing role model. Jamie cares deeply about Mental Health issues due to people around him who have suffered and he wants to do all that he can to make a difference.
