Jamie came through as a finalist at the Shining Star Awards 2016 in the ‘Fundraiser of the Year’ category. We attended this with some of STAGES Trustees and we all had a wonderful evening and were extremely proud of Jamie and all that he has done to help raise much needed funds to keep STAGES regularly supporting the people who need it. Our work in the latter part of last year would not have continued without Jamie’s efforts and his latest sponsored 3 Peak Challenge has raised a much need £712.25 towards our building fund which now gives us around £850 towards one day renting a building of our own.
It was also great to see Dennis Binks and Leisa Williams win awards in their categories which were both well deserved.
What a wonderful evening, celebrating the achievements of many local people who give so much of their time, energy and much of their lives to such worthwhile causes. Corby’s Community Spirit is truly outstanding. We were honoured to take part in such a beautiful event. Katrina Baker did a wonderful job organising it.
I am very pleased to announce that Jamie has been nominated and chosen as a finalist for the Shining Star Awards held in Corby tomorrow evening for the Fundraiser of the year category. Jamie has completed 3 challenges over the last year for STAGES. A 400 ft abseil down the lift tower in Northampton, the Pain & suffering mud run assault course (complete circuit)and most recently the 3 Peaks Challenge. Jamie’s fundraising efforts have been an amazing support for STAGES, his efforts have kept us delivering sessions every week even after our grant funds had run out.
Jamie’s most recent fundraiser is going towards helping us to eventually pay for our own place to rent. Jamie is an amazing young role model.
If you didn’t get the chance to sponsor Jamie, but would like to support our building fund you can still donate at www.localgiving.org/charity/stages.
