STAGES is in desperate need of Fundraisers

STAGES are currently in desperate need of local support.   We are completely reliant on charitable donations since our last grant ended in October 2016 and we  have only ever received small grants to help us.   Any money that we have received has always been givingquote

responsibly used and 20 week projects have managed to be stretched to continue weekly to keep people who need our regular support.  We have supported our service users for 50 of the 52 weeks in 2016 when we were only funded for 20.  We have been supporting our service users since early January until now every single week, still without any other financial support – thanks to the good will of volunteers and in particular Jamie Webster’s 2016 fundraising efforts.

Our People’s Projects Campaign campaign earlier this year, raised a huge amount of interest and awareness and many new service users have signed up as members as a result.  However, we are in a more difficult position now than ever before.

If you have an idea that could help us to raise funds ,so that we can keep our service accessible to those who need it, please follow the link below where you can create your own fundraising page through our localgiving platform.  funraise button

Alternatively, you can support us by signing up to the Corby Lottery through our STAGES Corby Lottery page

STAGES would like to thank voters who supported them in the People’s Projects 2017

STAGES would like to thank everyone who voted for us during the Peoples Projects Campaign.  We really do appreciate the effort you all made to vote for us and those of you who came to speak to us when we were in Corby Town Centre over the last couple of weeks.fbv4

Unfortunately, we did not get enough votes to win.  However, we would like to congratulate those groups who did win and hope that they all manage to make a great difference in their communities.

STAGES will be increasing our fundraising efforts to continue our campaign to fund a building of our own and continue and expand our life changing and life saving work. Particularly as this campaign had raised a lot of awareness about our charity.  Subsequently, we have many more referrals coming in and we want to be able to support everyone that needs our help.

If you would like help to support STAGES, enabling that to happen you can support us by donating at  our localgiving page.  Please click on the DONATE button below. Donate button - orange

A family members post about her sister-in-law.

My Sister-in-law has had such a good support network from the charity Stages in Corby . She has become firm friends with many of the members of the group and this has really helped in her recovery of mental health and well being .She does a lot of fundraising for Stages as she finds this a very supportive cause . She helps the charity and this help is actually helping herself become a more confident healthy lady . This is such a well worthy cause that Corby can’t afford to lose .

Young Female Service User’s Story

pp_resources_social_engFB_Cover

I have suffered with some mental health problems since secondary  school and was diagnosed with additional mental and physical conditions in my early 20s. I attended a holistic healing event put on by stages and a few months later , I attended one of their mindfulness courses, which has helped me, not only on a mental and emotional level but also physically too.

Through Stages I have met some amazing people and lifelong friends. It is nice to have met people who don’t judge and also people who actually understand what you’re experiencing. I feel comfortable around the other stages members and genuinely feel that I can be myself, which I haven’t felt in a long time.

Female Service User Story and why she wants you to vote for STAGES

I first joined stages in 2014. My sister in law handed me a leaflet which remained on my fridge for a week until I plucked up the courage to email to ask for a place on the upcoming mindfulness course. I went to that first session and never looked back. As a sufferer of bipolar disorder and OCD, I found I could feel very isolated. With stages, I have built up friendships and as I’ve said many times, it’s like a second family to me. The support is always there and the holistic therapies are extremely relaxing.

Mindfulness has changed me in ways I didn’t know possible. It has led to more rational thinking styles, acceptance of all emotions, even the bad ones and the ability to meditate to shut off my very busy mind.  It is a godsend for me and I feel it has not only been a benefit for myself, but my husband and children who have a calmer wife and mum. One in four of us will suffer from a mental health condition and services in this area are lacking.  We need stages so we can always be able to support people who are suffering in silence.  To help get rid of the stigma surrounding it and to prevent people becoming isolated. I am extremely fortunate that my sister in law passed on that leaflet, that one act turned out to be a turning point in my life.

Jo’s Story and why she would LOVE you to VOTE for STAGES

Jopp_resources_social_engFB_Cover

I came along to stages back in April last year . Trying to find a better way to manage my grief after losing my mum . Stages taught me how to use mindfulness to combat my grief and PTSD. I went on to volunteer and gained my first reiki certificate . Now I can help give back a little, with the holistic therapies stages offer. Amd being able to give back has made a massive difference in not only my life but my families life . I have become more assertive and confident in my daily life and my anxieties have became non existent I’m. so gratetful stages found me.  Healing the mind was only the start of an extraordinary journey.
